Members of the either the Assembly Labor or Judiciary committees would make ideal authors of the bill. Here are their names and phone numbers at both their District and Sacramento offices. Call today and tell them you want AB 1582 resurrected in the 2006-07 session.

WBTI has prepared a Grassroots Advocacy Kit You should read the documents there, too, to be prepared for questions after you tell your story in during your personal lobbying contact. Refer interested authors to us at The Workplace Bullying & Trauma Institute, the bill's sponsor.

Hope springs eternal and we remain positive. Here is encouragement from some of your colleagues.

"I would think conservatives would jump at an opportunity to pass non-protected class workplace harassment legislation. For them, this could be the beginning of diminishing the "special interest" approach to workplace protections and the civil rights of employees."

From another: "Maybe Arnold will have to prove that he is no longer a bully and harasser by supporting this bill! It's time for him to make an amends. He has apologized if he has offended anyone. Let's see if he will sign the healthy workplace bill."

" ... bullies destroy all things that make for a productive work environment: they break the morale of good workers, they create distrust, they breed cynicism, they keep people from concentrating on work. Bullies promote incompetent workers who are lackeys and keep down the best workers. I am a professor at a public university in Southern California. I am being paid ... to teach and do research. Until about two years ago I was by far the most productive professor in my department -- the best teacher and the best researcher. Now, all that I do is write e-mails to defend myself. This is a terrible waste of government resources."

Together we can make this happen.
