The undersigned legislator respectfully petitions for the passage of the following:
An Act RELATIVE TO BULLYING IN THE WORKPLACE
Be it enacted by Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 149 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 115 the following section: --
Section 115A. The Division of Occupational Safety shall conduct a study analyzing the direct and indirect costs of workplace psychological harassment for workers and their families as reflected in healthcare and insurance rates. The Division shall develop a program requiring employers with 50 or more employees to establish, no later than December 31, 2005, a policy that defines psychological harassment and prevents its occurrence.
