GAYE R. SYMINGTON of Jericho, Chittenden County, Democrat, was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 20, 1954 and became a resident of present town in July, 1988. She was educated in schools in New York state and in Virginia; Williams College, Williamstown, Massachusetts (B.A., 1977); Cornell University, Ithaca, New York (M.B.A., 1983). She worked in business financial management prior to raising children. She is married to Charles M. Lacy, and they have one daughter and two sons. She is a former board member of the Vermont Community Loan Fund and the Vermont Health and Education Building Finance Agency. She currently works at the Intervale Foundation as the Development Director. She has volunteered for Jericho community organizations such as the Community Center and the Town Library. Member of the House: 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2007-2008. Religious preference: Unitarian Universalist.
